Very convincing demons!
I <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" /> it/them...
This really grabbed my attention even as a small thumbnail. It is truly frightening. Part of what makes it so effective is the models' apparent youth- rather than the stereotypical churubic nymphets, these young ladies make you wonder- or afraid to find out- what aweful experience had driven them to such fierce rage/aggression on the one, and morbid brooding on the other... Kudos to the models' acting, and to you for setting such a scene with its implicit back-story of horror.
The resemblance of the characters to one another adds to the mystery, as does the close embrace, or perhaps gesture of clinging. they may be two aspects of the same being- the introspective sadness behind its external expression; perhaps they are "twins" or sisters coping in different ways with some tragedy they underwent. Such pairings of girls always remind me of the twins in Kubrick's film "The Shining"... However, rather than a bloodbath, these girls are found in a serene setting of a grimly bluish tint (which surprisingly doesn't clash with the bright red hair at all) which could be a cemetery, or maybe the woods in which they got lost. Either way, it adds depth to the image without creating any distraction from the characters who dominate the scene.
Excellent work on the makeup, hair, nails, jewelry and the esoteric marks on their foreheads. Their unearthly paleness is remarkable (are they ghosts? are they human at all?).
The more I look at this picture the more I notice, and I could probably add quite a bit more to this critique.
Photography is not my specialty, but as far as I can tell it is technically masterful.
A final comment- I haven't yet looked at your other works and don't know anything about you. I just felt compelled to attempt to articulate what a strong impression this work made on me at first sight, and to to try to understand how it does so.
Exquisite piece! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/r/r…" width="15" height="18" alt=":blackrose:" title="Black Rose" />
