The lighting, the contrast, the pose, her figure, her eyes, her lips, her illuminated hair and skin...its all just stunning! This is an amazing picture in many ways; many thanks to the the model and the artist(s) involved.
THE BEST I really admire your work and if i may say lucky to have such a beauty by your side your gallery is just great! I wish your life-time happiness and hope that you never lose that spirit. Beautiful work
I would have written a critique, but I don't feel I have enough negative input to warrant one nor do I have the subscription needed to post one anyways. Good job, DA, because the only people with critiques are people with money.
I'm not sure what lighting you used, but it is absolutely fantastic. The skin on the model's face, chest, and center torso almost seem to glow. She looks very soft and alive. I find too often in photographs, artistic nudes more often than any other kind, the model ends up looking washed out and mannequin-like.
I'm sure she should look venerable and helpless there, bare chested, and in what looks like a bad place but she doesn't to me. Instead her expression invokes feelings of calmness, serenity, and a subtle confidence. She appears almost otherworldly, an angel in ruins. I love the pose, it accentuates the softness of her chest, the curved lines of her waist, and her femininity in general. The upwards tilt of her head makes me think she's in a hole, an old well or the the chimney of an abandoned factory, looking up towards the light, or perhaps up towards her rescuer. Of course, in my mind there could be another story. A 'helpless' girl trapped in a well or something of the nature, cleverly luring kind hearted men to aid her, only to drag them down to their doom. I don't know if you had a story in mind when you shot this, but this picture prods at my imagination, which is most defiantly a good thing.
Although I know you can't take credit for this tidbit of joy, I really do love this models body. She has the cutest little pudge on her belly and I find her full fleshed form to be very refreshing in a world of rib jutting models. Her 'imperfect' body lends a bit more realism to an otherwise fantastical looking piece. I think she was defiantly a wonderful choice for this shot.
We've all seen beautiful, half naked young women in the ruins of burned out or partly demolished buildings, so I can't call this terribly original, but I do like your spin on this 'classic theme'.
Ah, one more thing before I go. The textures. This picture has very nice ones. The rough, ashy crumbling texture of the brick behind the model in comparison to the soft, warm, silkiness of her skin. It serves to make the model look all the more appealing, all the more beautiful. I also enjoy how the picture fades off towards the bottom. It adds to the illusion, in my mind at least, that she's in some sort of hole.
Well, since I can't use the critique system, I'll give you my own 'stars' here.
This is an over all delightful picture. I found it to be truly pleasing to the eye and this is the most time I've spent studying and commenting on a picture in months. I look forward to seeing more work from you.
